Do you frequently drink out of paper cups? If yes, then we must say that you are on the right path in saving our mother nature. And if not then start evaluating this aspect because these cups are a super convenient option for multiple uses. Though we all are aware of these cups, most of us don’t know about their manufacturing procedure. So here in the next segment, we would discuss how these cups are made in factories.
Paper cups are manufactured with a special category of paper named ‘cupboard’. This cupboard is created with multiple layers of paper. These multiple layers keep the entire cupboard stiff and sturdy even after getting wet. Paper is normally manufactured with wood chips.
The wood chips are at first turned into wood pulp. This wood pulp is needed to be bleached by using chlorine, sodium hydroxide and other chemicals to generate paper mash. Some studies disclose that 33 grams of wood chips are needed to make one paper cup.
After preparing the raw materials, they are needed to be shaped well. Most paper cup makers add a thin layer of plastic to the paper while making cups with it. The main reason behind this is to make the cusps 100% waterproof and leak-proof. After that, the flat plastic-covered paper sheet is rolled into the shape of a cup. After that, the plastic got heated to seal the multiple parts of the cup.
Apart from the above-mentioned two steps, some cups also possess some special features too. Generally, custom hot cup sleeves are used to make the user hold the hot cup very easily. Apart from using custom hot cup sleeves, a special category of paper is also used to make these cups. This type of paper includes a special inner and outer layer which enables the users to hold the cups. Some cups possess polymer coating insulation to get a tougher body than regular cups.
After completing the primary structure, colours and other decorations are put on the cups. Different pictures, prints, custom stickers, QR codes and other elements are incorporated later to make the cups get a final catchy look. These cups are so unique that these cups can be served on any occasion with other accessories like custom guest towels.
Though in the short-term paper, cups are nature-friendly, over the long-term, using them can generate major climatic change. As we discussed that paper is made from wood pulp which needs a notable amount of water and energy to get cultivated. So, nowadays, simultaneously the usage of plastic cups has notably occurred.
